ActionAid Pakistan

ActionAid Pakistan established in 1992, is part of ActionAid, an international anti poverty agency helping over 13 million of world’s poorest and most disadvantaged people in 42 countries worldwide to fight poverty and injustice.

In Pakistan it is working in partnership with civil society local organisations, community groups and marginalised people to challenge patriarchy and inequality, and promote democratic, accountable and responsive governance.

National Endowment for Democracy

The National Endowment for Democracy (NED)is a private, nonprofit organization created in 1983 to strengthen democratic institutions around the world through nongovernmental efforts. Each year, the NED gives to support prodemocracy groups in Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the former Soviet Union.

Oxfam GB


Oxfam GB is working globally against poverty. It believes in acting together with people. It saves lives and develops projects through which poor people organize themselves and become in charge of their lives and livelihoods.

Oxfam GB is campaigning for change that lasts for ever.

It helps people in their emergency times: floods, earth quakes, tsunamis, wars and so on.

Oxfam Novib

Oxfam Novib is member of Oxfam International. It came into being in 1956 with an aim of fighting for a just world without poverty together with people, organisations, businesses and governments. It offers projects for lobbying and community development. The ON believes that all human beings have right to a decent existence and sees injustice the most important cause of poverty. It starts working for attainment of basic human rights to alleviate poverty and hunger in nation states.

The Fund for Global Human Rights

The Fund for Global Human Rights is an international organization has a belief that securing basic freedoms worldwide requires effective, frontline organizations challenging abuse wherever it occurs. For this, it works to ensure a strong, effective human rights community worldwide. It works for the advancement of human rights everywhere.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the United Nations' global development network, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to build a better life. UNDP has a presence and an unrivalled track-record in supporting national development efforts in more than 160 countries. World Forum of Fisher Peoples

In 1997, WFFP came into being. On the next year, PFF was founded. PFF became it member in 2004. WFFP is a federation of fishers, fishworkers and fisher support organizations mainly working in Asia, Africa but have friends in Canada and Europe. WFFP is fighting to protect the rights of indigenous small scale fishers, to protect fish resources and the coast, territories, lands and waters on which they have traditionally depended for their life and livelihoods.

Dharti Coalition

PFF is part of Dharti Coalition- a coalition of civil society organizations- in Karachi. Dharti is working to promote common agenda of all organizations, which is social justice for all. Following organizations are members of the coalition: Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research (PILER), Shehri, Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO), Mutehda Labour Federation, PFF and others. Dharti coalition has become very active against displacement of fishers of Machi Mayan village Gizri area Karachi.

Civil Society Alliance Thatta

Thatta district is overwhelmed with uncountable problems because it is completely cut off from the development and unfortunately has no mechanism that can bring an end to the problems, or if there is any mechanism that is found dysfunctional. In this regard, PFF felt a dire need to form a social alliance of the NGOs working in the district for putting a full stop to the problems and push the prevailing mechanism.
