INVITATION

The Provincial Dialogue on “Gaps & Recommendations on Existing Laws that Govern Sindh Fisheries”

Dear Madam/Sir,

Warmest Greeting from PFF!

The Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF) cordially invites you to join us in the dialogue as captioned above to be held on Tuesday 24 May-2016, at Hotel Mehran, Karachi.

Fisheries play an important role in the national economy but unfortunately we greatly lack the good policies, rules and regulation to manage the resources of fisheries and importantly to facilitate the fishers. A comprehensive research in this regard has been conducted which concludes that the existing laws that govern the fisheries sector in Sindh has various loopholes. The laws, rules & regulations strongly need to be harmonized with the FAO’s Voluntary Guidelines on Securing Sustainable Small-Scale Fisheries and other relevant national and international laws and covenants. Besides, the research report also demands a sustainable Sindh Fisheries Policy which the province lacks.

In this connection Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum is going to organize a provincial level interactive dialogue on the “Gaps and recommendations on Existing Fisheries Laws in Sindh” on 24 May 2016 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Hotel Mehran, Karachi.

We expect your worthy participation in this important event sharing of your valuable inputs on the subject.

We look forward to receiving you at the event.

Thanks You and Regards

Mohammad Ali Shah
