Position: Project Manager (School Safety Programme-DRR)

Overall Job Description: The project manager is required to have knowledge of management principles involved in project cycle management, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource modeling, leadership techniques, report writing and coordination of people and resources. S/he also needs to have strong knowledge of Disaster Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, School Safety, Education System of Sindh, Emergency Response and Mock Drills. S/he will be responsible for the project management in accordance with the project documents, donor requirement, ground realities & policy dynamics; lobbying & coordination with stakeholders and the donor compliance

Computer Literacy: Literate in MS Office (MS Work, MS Excel & MS PowerPoint)
Languages: Fluent inEnglish and Urdu/Sindhi with strong professional communication skills
No. of Positions: one
Duty Station: Sanghar with extensive field travel to Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar and Karachi
Job Status: Full time
Duration: 07 Months
Experience: FiveYears minimum
Education: Master’s Degree in Disaster Management, Social Sciences, Project Management, Rural Development or any other relevant discipline

Responsibilities:

* Programme Planning & Implementation
* Lead and support to field staff to ensure that the project is being implemented effectively with high impact according to agreement with donor and with technical quality standards.
* Responsible for successful implementation of the project in accordance with the approved LFA, work plan and budget
* Develop detailed monthly activity plan in collaboration with donors based on the approved work plan
* Induct all key stakeholders in the salient elements of the project
* Set in place a monthly progress review and planning mechanism for the project team
* Maintain a solid, up-to-date understanding of the factors related to the project and orient and share with the apex management and leadership of the organization
* Prepare and submit narrative reports monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual basis to report on project progress at output and outcomes/results level as per organization’s and donor’s requirements
* Responsible for monthly progress reports, intermediate reports, and end of the project final report to the management
* Oversee periodic reporting formats to record progress toward achievement of planned targets;
* Identify gaps, under-performance and work with the partner for improvement and course correction
* Ensure maintenance of project documentation
* Any other relevant tasks assigned by the management and the leadership
