Position: Project Facilitator

Number of posts: Five (05)

Overall Job Description: The Project Facilitator will assist the project manager in visiting field areas of the project, follow-up visits of ALPs/ CSs, carrying out various activities of the project and preparing such reports. The ideal candidate must be motivated and reliable to perform the duties associated with the position. S/he must know the important elements in project i.e. peace promotion, social cohesion, non-formal education, conflict resolution, gender mainstreaming, community mobilization and CFS. S/he will be required to hold meetings with VEC, relevant stakeholders including local administration and Education department, organize theaters, recreational activities, and trainings & sessions, prepare the reports of activities, maintain and update the data and project record keeping.

Responsibilities:

* Assist the Chief/Project Coordinator in Preparation of an action plan for the accomplishment of the set targets

* Support the Project Coordinator and other project team in all aspects of implementation of an integrated project of education, peace and social cohesion in the district

* Work closely with Village Education Committees, SMCs and Peace Committees to ensure their proper participation, mobilization of the communities and formation of VECs

* Identify the potential youth, JLs from the target Govt. Schools and communities and facilitate them in trainings, including support to the trainers

* Look after the project library

* Ensure the enrolment of out-of-school children in ALPs/ CSs

* Support in advocacy based and awareness raising activities

* Facilitate and guide the potential Para-teachers/ Learning Facilitators for the smooth running of ALPs/CSs

* Conduct follow up visits of ALPs/CSs on daily basis and hold meetings with the parents and teachers

* Conducting health & hygiene sessions of children enrolled in ALPs/CSs

* Ensure proper documentation of all activities

* Submit timely and accurate activity reports

* Any other task assigned by the management

Required Skills:

* Professional work experience on education and social cohesion centred approaches for peace promotion among the communities

* Proficient and experienced in planning, monitoring and reporting of project activities in relevant field in multi-stakeholder partnerships and collaborations

* Good understanding on CFS, harmony, conflict resolution and peace promotion Excellent report writing and communication skills

Reports to: Chief/Project Coordinator Duty Station: Karachi (with extensive field visits in Ibrahim Hydri & Rehri UCs) Job Status: Full time Duration: One year (initially on probation)

Experience: Two Years minimum Education: Preferably Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences

Languages: Fluent in both Urdu & Sindhi with communication skills in English language

Computer Literacy: Literate in MS Office (MS Work, MS Excel & MS PowerPoint)
